Master of Divinity, The Master’s Seminary, Sun Valley, CA, 2011
Master of Theology, Old Testament, The Master’s Seminary, Sun Valley, CA, 2012
Nathan was born in El Centro, CA in 1982, and lived in California, Virginia, and Colorado. At the age of 16, he moved with his family to Fairbanks, AK where he graduated high school in 2000.
From an early age, Nathan showed an interest in music. He began studying piano at the age of 8 and played french horn for 7 years the Fairbanks Symphony. After high school, he attended the University of Alaska Fairbanks where he earned a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance. It was during his time in college that God intervened in Nathan’s life and brought him to saving faith in Christ.
Nathan’s intention following college was to pursue a career in orchestral conducting, but during the final semester of his undergraduate work, he began an internship at his local church as a Junior High director. During that time, Nathan was able to get his feet wet in ministry and develop a teaching gift that had become increasingly apparent. By the third year of his internship, it was clear that God was redirecting his life from a career in music to a life of full-time ministry.
With no options for formal training in Alaska, Nathan packed up his car and in the summer of 2007 headed to Los Angeles, CA to attend The Master’s Seminary. He spent five years at TMS, graduating with a Master of Divinity (2011) as well as a Master of Theology in Old Testament (2012). While at seminary, he also began dating his wife Natasha, and in 2008 they were married in North Pole, AK.
Following seminary, Nathan returned with his wife and 9-month old son to Alaska where he served from 2012-2013 as the 8th and 11th grade Bible teacher at Grace Christian School. A year later, in 2013, he came on staff at AGC as a full-time Worship Pastor. Now, in addition to leading the congregation in worship, Nathan oversees community groups, coordinates the radio and media ministries, teaches an Old Testament equipping class, leads Institute classes, and serves as administrator and adjunct faculty for the Anchorage location of The Master’s Seminary.
Nathan is married to Natasha, a native-born Alaskan, and they have two boys, Desmond and Weston. When not at the church, Nathan can be found hiking and fishing with his sons, cooking with Natasha, or building something in the garage.
