Service times, directions, and what to expect upon your first visit to Anchorage Grace

Thinking about visiting Anchorage Grace?

Let us help you plan your visit…

Getting to know each other

We know meeting someone for the first time can be intimidating, and going to a new church for the first time can be nerve-racking. We want to help make your first experience at Anchorage Grace a great one!

Service Times

Anchorage Grace meets every Sunday morning and offers a variety of Bible classes for children and adults followed by a worship service. Once a month, we also meet together on Sunday evening for special family worship time called “Worship in the Round”:

  • Equipping Classes: Sundays at 9:00am
  • Worship Service: Sundays at 10:30am
  • Worship in the Round: 1st Sunday of the month at 5:00pm

During the summer months and around major holidays, our equipping classes don’t meet, so if you’re thinking about visiting during these times, check our church calendar just to make sure. However, our Sunday morning worship service will always meet at the same time each week.

Location & Directions

Anchorage Grace is located in South anchorage, on the corner of Pintail and Huffman Rd., just past Lake Otis. You can find detailed directions to the church from your location by clicking the link below.

Parking & Entrances

There is plenty of parking available in front of the building, but there’s also addition parking on each side and in the back. The building has two main entrances. The large glass doors closest to the road are our main doors to the church, but if you need to park further away, you can come in through either the large glass doors across the parking lot or through the double doors at the midpoint of the building.

Welcome Center

When you first arrive, the first place to go is the welcome center, which is located in lobby just inside the main doors. Someone will be there to greet you, help you check in your children to the AGC Kids classes, and answer any questions you have.

What can I expect?

How long is a church service?

In total, a worship service at AGC is about 75 minutes in length. Services begin with a welcome from one of our pastors. Then our band leads the church in singing a few songs – song lyrics are projected onto the front screen so you can sing along. We then have a time of Scripture reading and prayer led by a pastor followed by some brief announcements. Then our band leads the church in a few more songs

After the music portion of the service, one of our pastors (usually our senior pastor) comes and preaches a message from the Bible. The Bible is central to everything we do at Anchorage Grace, so it’s no surprise that we dedicate a significant portion of our service to preaching. Normally, we’re working section-by-section through a book of the Bible, and each message is around 45 minutes in length.

Often, we will sing one more song after the sermon, and then one of our pastors will lead us in a final prayer before the service concludes.

What’s the culture like at AGC?

Sundays at AGC are warmcasual, and relaxed. Dress however you feel most comfortable. Most people dress casually, but others like to dress up. There’s no expectations! Come as you are and expect to feel welcomed as our guest.

What’s the music like?

Music is an important part of our time together. We see it as a way to express our faith together in unison, and a way of connecting our affections with what we believe. Our band can look different every week, and our music is a blend of hymns and new songs, all set in a modern style.

What about my kids?

We believe that kids should have a blast at church every week – and at AGC we make this a priority. The other thing we make a priority is your children’s safety. Because of that, we have a detailed check-in process for our AGC Kids program the first time that you visit. You’ll want to leave yourself an extra ten minutes to get your kids signed in. AGC Kids ministry is offered at every Sunday morning worship service for kids ages infant through Grade 6.

Kids ministry is also available during our Equipping Classes.
