Equipping Classes

Sundays at 9:00am

Anchorage Grace is dedicated to equipping the church for the work of the ministry (Eph 4:12). We are convinced that it is only through the ministry of God’s Word working in the hearts and lives of believers that the body will grow and mature into Christ-likeness (John 17:17; Acts 20:32; Eph 5:26; 1 Thess 2:13; 1 Pet 2:2). For this reason, we offer a variety of classes on Sunday mornings aimed at equipping adult believers to grow biblically, mature spiritually, connect corporately, and serve faithfully.

Children’s Bible classes are available during Equipping Hour for kids of all ages, including nursery care for ages 0-3.

Summer Schedule

Equipping Classes do not meet during the month of July. This allows our teachers a chance to rest, enjoy a summer break, and prepare their material. All classes will resume in the month of August unless otherwise noted.

Fall 2018 Classes

Old Testament

Current Study: Leviticus

Leviticus is a book of towering spirituality whose theological and moral significance reaches far beyond the bounds of its historical setting. This class explores the text of Leviticus both to understand what it meant to Israel under the old covenant, as well as how the theology of the text intersects with our lives as believers under the New Covenant.

Current Study: The Art of Parenting

The Art of Parenting study by FamilyLife is designed to not only help parents find new ways to integrate faith into everyday parenting moments, but also to create an environment where moms and dads can shoulder burdens together, celebrate breakthroughs, and relate to one another’s day to day parenting journey. Parents will finish the study with renewed confidence in parenting, fresh insights on parenting children of different ages, and a parenting plan unique to each child’s personality and gifts.

Fundamentals of the Faith

Fundamentals of the Faith is a 26 week study which blends basic biblical truths with personal obedience and service. It is the perfect study for new believers, veteran saints, or anyone who desires to better grasp the fundamental elements of the Christian faith. It is more than a casual study. With weekly assignments and engaging discussions, it invites participants to explore the Bible and discover the vast riches of life in Jesus Christ.

Ladies Study

Current Study: 1 Corinthians

Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians represents the struggles and issues that come when Christians succumb to the influences of the world. First Corinthians provides a pastoral corrective to the many issues that face the local church divisions, sexual issues, marriage, worship, spiritual gifts, the Lord’s Supper, the resurrection. By combining historical insights, word studies, discussion questions, and assignments, this class offers women a unique look into the life of the church and the spiritual correctives necessary to live righteously in an increasingly immoral culture.

Teacher: Sara Crewdson Fairclough

Current Study: The Gospel Project

The NEXT Class is specifically geared toward young adults. This semester, the class will begin The Gospel Project, a study that helps participants encounter the gospel of Jesus Christ on every page of Scripture. This chronological, Christ-centered Bible study will help you turn the gospel story into a gospel culture and motivate participants to mission at home and around the world.
