Old Testament Class

The Old Testament was the Bible of Jesus and the early disciples. In it, the doctrines of God, man, sin, Christ, redemption, future things, and the promised kingdom of God find their biblical foundations. This class provides an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of that portion of Scripture which believers too often ignore and neglect in their personal study. Through a lecture-based approach, the class explores various avenues in Old Testament studies, from macro themes and overviews, to topics related to interpretation and hermeneutics, to expositions of individual books.

This current series is an in-depth exploration of the doctrine of Scripture. Focusing on the topics of revelation, inspiration, canonization, and preservation, it’s the perfect opportunity to gain a greater understanding and love for God’s Word.

Following the completion of the Former Prophets in the Old Testament Flyover series, the class took a 10-week detour to explore a more specific topic related to eschatology and the biblical covenants. Based on Nathan’s Th.M. thesis, this study focuses on the nature and interpretation of metaphor in the Old Testament, the Day of the Lord, and the implications of the covenants on the future of Israel.
