for Church Leadership

Advanced Training for the Church

Pastors face a monumental responsibility—”to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ” (Ephesians 4:12). The church functions most effectively when the body takes care of itself. And godly, well-trained leadership is a central aspect of developing and maintaining a healthy church.

The Institute for Church Leadership is a training program developed by The Master’s Seminary and designed to provide advanced theological and spiritual training for lay leadership in the local church. Courses are 10 weeks long and combine lectures from TMS faculty and Grace Community Church leaders with weekly reading, quizzes, and class discussions, and cover areas related to spiritual character, Bible knowledge, sound doctrine, and shepherding care.

Whether you’re an aspiring elder-in-training, a faithful deacon or deaconess, a dedicated Bible teacher or community group leader, or simply a believer hungry to develop your gifts and skills for further ministry in the church, the Institute for Church Leadership provides an engaging program for advanced ministry training.

Furthermore, it covers the major themes and events of the books of the New Testament tracing the major developments and rich history, chapter-by-chapter, highlighting unique and important features to help aid believers in their own personal study of each book.

New Testament Survey I covers in historical (rather than canonical) order the intertestamental period followed by a detailed study of the books of: Matthew, Mark, John, Luke, Acts, James, Galatians, First and Second Thessalonians, and First Corinthians.
