Making Disciples

God has called Anchorage Grace Church to the indispensable task of discipleship. Both the Old and New Testaments mark out discipleship as a requisite part of ministry—not an option. In fact, discipleship is the central thrust of the Great Commission (Matt 28:19-20). The emphasis, of course, is on making disciples, a responsibility that goes beyond the simple preaching of the gospel.

Thus, we are not satisfied with merely making converts to Christianity. We are equally committed to training and discipling those who respond to the gospel message by fully integrating them into the life of the church. Our desire is that in proclaiming Christ, we may admonish and teach every person so as to “present every man complete in Christ” (Col 1:28).

At Anchorage Grace, all of our ministries—our children’s and student ministries, Bible classes, community groups, worship service, men’s and women’s Bible studies, outreach and missions, and especially Grace Christian School—they are all rooted and interlaced in the task of making disciples.
